Turn a Few Images Into a Looping GIF Without a Screen Recorder
In Filer, select a few images, right-click, and the GIF Maker plugin combines them into one looping .gif next to the originals — no screen recording, no separate GIF tool to open.

What you get
A quick looping GIF is often all a demo needs — lighter than a captioned video, and it plays inline anywhere without a video player. Making one usually still means a screen recorder or a separate GIF-editing site, for images that are already sitting in a folder.
The GIF Maker plugin skips both. Select the images in Filer, in the order they should play, right-click, and Combine into GIF... — behind that menu item is the same configured model that answers chat, which reads your request and has the plugin combine the images for you.
How to do it
The screens below are from an actual run of the plugin — the same 4 images, combined into the GIF shown at the end.
Needs: the GIF Maker plugin installed and a Chat AI configured (local or remote) — the right-click action is itself a prompt handed to your configured model, which is the one that decides to call the tool.

- The GIF Maker plugin installed — no separate service, no external tool
- 2 to 20 images (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .webp, .bmp), all the same size, selected in the order they should play

Select the images, right-click
Multi-select the images in the order you want them to play, right-click, and open Actions → Combine into GIF...
Pick the speed and looping
The dialog asks how long each frame stays on screen and whether the GIF loops forever or plays once — both have a sensible default. Sending it hands those settings and the image list to your configured model as a prompt.
The model calls the tool, you get back one looping .gif
The model reads the prompt, the plugin combines the images with those settings, and the images play back to back, saved as a new file right next to the sources.

Where else this applies
Anywhere a quick, lightweight loop beats a full video fits the same shape:
- Chat and forum previews — a few screenshots turned into a GIF that plays inline without anyone clicking to open a video.
- Before/after comparisons — two or three progress shots from a project folder, looped so the change is obvious at a glance.
- A step up from a static screenshot — when a single image doesn't show enough, but a full captioned video (see the video-compose usecase) is more than the moment needs.

- Typed in chat, no right-click — since the menu item is already just a prompt to the model, asking a folder's agent in chat to "combine these four images into a GIF" reaches the exact same tool call directly, no image selection needed first.

- On a schedule or a file event — the same tool call works from a scheduled or file-triggered agent: a folder that watches for new screenshots could refresh a status GIF on its own each time one lands.
