One Capability, Five Ways to Use It
Start with a single right-click. End with a folder that summarizes, converts, and notifies on its own — all five steps below use the same capability, growing one step at a time. Part 2 covers a second axis: finding and answering from what's inside your files.
Part 1 — One Capability, Five Ways to Use It
Right-click, no setup
Select a file in Filer's Explorer and right-click it. Filer ships with a starter set of document actions — Summarize, Explain, Translate, and about a dozen more — one install away, no configuration needed once they're in.
The same thing, from chat
The same capability is also just a chat message away — no automation, no folder setup, the same result either way.

Put a FilerAI agent on the folder
Add an AGENTS.md instruction and the same capability runs unattended: the moment a new document lands in the folder, it gets summarized and the summary is sent to Telegram — nobody has to ask.

Chain it with other tools
The same trigger, the same summarize step, now followed by two more: the summary becomes a shareable PDF, then that PDF is what actually gets sent — four tool calls, one instruction, one agent turn.

Add a plugin, the toolset grows
Step 1's Summarize and Explain came from one plugin (Document Essentials); the Convert to… action used in the last step came from another (Document Converter). Install a plugin and Filer's own right-click menu grows with it, live — same interaction as step 1, more capability behind it.

Part 2 — Knowledge, Not Just Files
Find By What's Inside the File
Part 1 acted on a file you'd already found. This part is about finding it in the first place — by what's written inside it, not its filename — and about getting an answer grounded in that content instead of a file to go read yourself.
Ask it to remember a folder
Point Filer at a folder of documents and ask it to remember them. It reads every file and indexes the content — no separate upload step, no dashboard to configure first.

Search by what's inside, not the filename
Once a folder is memorized, AI Search matches file content — not just names. Ask for something you know is in there somewhere, and Filer ranks the right file first even when its name gives no hint.

The folder you're in is the search scope
Ask the same kind of question from the top-level folder and results come from everything underneath it. Step into a subfolder and the same question only searches inside that subfolder — no separate step to switch workspace or pick which files count.
